Monday Night Football: Nice Try, Clay Matthews

Remember the football term “keep your head on a swivel?”

Well apparently Green Bay Packers’ veteran linebacker Clay Matthews forgot.

In tonight’s Monday Night Football match-up Matthews looked to make a bone-chilling hit on Eagles’ rookie receiver Bryce Treggs. Instead, he was laid-out by Philadelphia guard Allen Barbre.

Matthews even exited the game with an apparent shoulder injury following the crushing blow. He later re-entered the game, luckily for Green Bay. But let’s just say Matthews isn’t quite the same kind of play-maker as he was in his prime back in 2012.
