One of the Arena Football League’s best dynasties in league history––the 2011-16 Arizona Rattlers––is looking to continue its ArenaBowl success from recent years past.
Arizona, representing the National Conference, not only defeated but dismantled the Cleveland Gladiators in the National Conference Championship, 82-41.
The victory means Arizona (15-3) will face off with the Philadelphia Soul from the American Conference this coming weekend for the ArenaBowl XXIX championship.
Philadelphia, also 15-3 this season, made the trip to the league championship by knocking off its rival, the Jacksonville Sharks, 55-50 in the American Conference Championship.
Arizona is looking to capture its sixth ArenaBowl championship in franchise history, which would also mark its fourth title since the 2012 season. Philly, on the other hand, will be seeking its second league title in franchise history and first title under leadership of head coach Clint Dolezel.
Dolezel, 46, won an ArenaBowl championship in 2001 as quarterback of the Grand Rapids Rampage, but this would mark his first title as a coach.
The game is set for this Friday, August 26, at 7 P.M. (eastern time) in Glendale, Arizona.
