About the Staff

Ben Heck––Founder/Owner, Executive Editor & Primary Contributor

24 years old.

Graduated from Queen Anne’s County High School in Centreville, Maryland in June 2010. Attended York College of Pennsylvania as Mass Comm. major for 1.5 years before transferring to Salisbury University (located on the Eastern Shore of Maryland). Ben graduated from Salisbury with his Bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts/Media Production, with a minor in Film in December of 2015.

In addition to AOB, Ben launched a brand-new baseball website (Ahead in the Count) on December 1, 2014 with a couple of close friends and fellow die-hard baseball fans. The site saw a decent amount of success before he shut it down in December of 2015––it’s tough keeping up with multiple websites without spreading yourself too thin. For the one year it was active, AITC had served as AOB‘s sister site.

Ben is a former intern for Inside The Os (Baltimore Orioles page) and former contributing writer for Orioles-Nation. Ben is the current Philadelphia Soul columnist for Arena Insider (a newly-launched Arena Football League website). For the second summer in a row, Ben covers all of the Soul home games at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA.

In September of 2016, Ben accepted a position as the Sports Editor for three weekly newspapers in Delaware (Sussex County Post, Milford Chronicle, Harrington Journal), and he now resides on Lewes, DE. But he is still in full-on editor mode for All-Out Blitz, of course.

Ben has been an avid follower of the National Football League since the age of five.

He created this site in April of 2010 (started out as a blog on, before being he moved to his own domain in June of 2013).

James Cannida––NFL Writer

41 years old.

One of the best football players in the history of the University of Nevada, James Cannida was a sixth-round pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 1998 NFL Draft.

Cannida came of age on the West Coast as a two-sport standout at American High School in Fremont, Calif. He moved on to Reno for a remarkable career with the Wolf Pack, where he started all but four games and played all but one game in his four years at Nevada. He helped lead the Pack to Las Vegas Bowl appearances in 1995 and 1996. In 1996, Cannida led the team with 10 sacks, and in 1997, he tied for the team lead with five. He finished his career with 208 tackles, including 29 for a loss, and 18 sacks.

He was selected in the sixth round of the NFL Draft in 1998 and spent five NFL seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Indianapolis Colts under Hall of Fame head coach Tony Dungy. He was inducted into the Nevada Athletics Hall of Fame in 2008.

Now James really enjoys writing about all of his favorite sports from the perspective of a former player: “I want to create water cooler and barber shop talk.” He began writing about his favorite sports over on (
