Ben Roethlisberger (Torn Meniscus) Officially Ruled Out for Sunday

As if the 2016 NFL season could experience any more parity, then this happened on Sunday afternoon against the Dolphins:

Yesterday, Roethlisberger underwent surgery on his left knee, and it was said to have been a successful procedure.

He’s been officially ruled out for this Sunday’s match-up against the New England Patriots. But, with a Week 8 bye week, Ben could end up only missing the one game and then returning in three weeks to face the Baltimore Ravens in Week 9. We’ll just have to stay tuned and see how his recovery process goes, but for now Pittsburgh doesn’t seem to believe it’ll be a long-term injury.

Which seems outrageous to me. Roethlisberger’s legendary toughness will only grow greater, if he does in fact only miss a game or two following a torn meniscus.
