Denver Broncos’ running back C.J. Anderson (bone bruise) is expected to miss at least a few weeks, if not longer.
Anderson, 25, suffered a bone bruise in his right knee in Denver’s 27-9 victory over Houston Monday night. His 107-yard performance in the victory marks his first 100-yard game of the season. So far in 2016, the Denver RB has accumulated 437 rushing yards and four touchdowns in seven starts.
Aside from Anderson’s recent success, Denver has struggled on the ground this season. Overall, the 5-2 Broncos have surpassed the 100-yard rushing total just three times this season, including Monday’s 190-yard outing.
Behind Anderson’s 437, rookie running back Devontae Booker has recorded 244 rushing yards and a touchdown this season. The 24-year old Booker is bound to see plenty of carries over the next few weeks, so it’ll be interesting to see how he responds to a heavier workload.
