Free Agency: Best Fit for Star Cornerback Josh Norman?

It’s April 20, and yet somehow one of the game’s premiere defenders––Carolina Panthers’ CB Josh Norman––has just hit the free agent market.

The Carolina Panthers’ officially released word, via Twitter, that they had made the decision to rescind the franchise tag they placed on Norman, immediately making him an unrestricted free agent:

That last tweet should say it all. Doesn’t sound like, to me, there’s even a slight chance that he returns with the Panthers. He will, in fact, hit the open market.

According to, the teams with the most remaining cap space as of right now include:

Jaguars––$54 million
49ers––$52 million
Browns––$40 million
Titans––$29.5 million
Giants/Bears––$22 million

Who should make a move for Norman? There’s no way he’s still on the market by the time the draft rolls around at the end of the month. Should be an intriguing few days!
