NFL Week 9: Jaguars Bench Rookie RB Leonard Fournette vs. Bengals

Ahead of this afternoon’s Week 9 showdown against the Cincinnati Bengals, Jacksonville has made the decision to bench rookie running back Leonard Fournette.

It appears as though he’s a healthy scratch. According to the trusted Ian Rapoport, he violated a team rule and will be inactive for the 1 p.m. ET kick-off.

The rookie runner leads the 4-3 Jaguars in rushing this season, putting up 596 yards and 6 TDs on the ground in his six starts this fall.

Against the Bengals, it’s not a big deal. But if you’re a Fournette fantasy owner, it might be a big deal. Quick, pick up a replacement if you don’t already have a guy sitting and waiting on your bench!

((UPDATE: It didn’t matter. Jaguars shut down the struggling Bengals, 23-7, to improve to 5-3 on the season.))
