Terrell Owens finally received the call to the Hall of Fame, but will be skipping the August enshrinement ceremony in Canton this August.
Instead, as he announced via his official Twitter account, he’ll be holding a free event and giving his HOF speech Saturday, Aug. 4 at University of Tennessee Chattanooga — his alma mater.
He’s received a lot of blowback from the decision to skip the Canton ceremony, but what’s the big deal? It’s his enshrinement and, as the No. 2 greatest receiver in pro football history (arguably, of course), he’s allowed to make a decision such as this. It’s his weekend.
Although, the one legitimate complaint I can see people having is the fact this could take away some of the spotlight on the rest of the inductees — it’s their weekend, too.
Will you be watching the PFHOF induction ceremony this year?
