Tough news for the Green Bay Packers today, although I think we all knew this was coming anyways.

Packers’ standout receiver Jordy Nelson left last Sunday’s win over the New York Giants due to multiple rib fractures. And now, today, it’s been announced that the 31-year old will miss Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys.

He will still travel with the team to AT&T Stadium.

Nelson caught just one pass for 13 yards last Sunday before taking a hard hit from New York defensive back Leon Hall in the second quarter.

Jordy led the league with 14 touchdown catches this season, just one shy of his career-high (15 in 2011). He caught 97 passes (also one shy of his career-high) for 1,257 yards in 16 starts during the regular season. He missed all of last season due to a torn ACL in August.

Nelson will be sorely missed by future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers as they get set to face the NFC’s top team.
