With a 20-22 record as the starter of the last three seasons and a first-round pick rolling into town this season, 33-year-old Joe Flacco’s future as the Baltimore Ravens’ starting quarterback appears bleak.
Despite being under contract through the 2021 season, I just can’t see Flacco starting a full 16 games this season. Especially if Lamar Jackson, the 32nd overall pick in this spring’s NFL Draft out of Louisville, impresses in training camp (see tweet below ↓).
If Flacco struggles in the first few games of the season, there’s no doubt fans will be calling for his benching in favor of Jackson. Because of this, I think the Flacco/Jackson QB battle (yes, I’m classifying this one as a full-on QB battle) in Baltimore is certainly one to monitor throughout July and August.
