Former University of Delaware Blue Hens standout tight end Nick Boyle will be catching passes this year from another former Blue Hen, Super Bowl MVP quarterback Joe Flacco.
Boyle, 22, was selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft in Chicago, Ill. yesterday. The 6’6″/270-pound New Jersey native was a Blue Hen captain this past season, catching 37 passes for 304 yards and four touchdowns as a senior for head coach Dave Brock.
Over his four seasons at UD, Boyle accumulated 984 yards and 12 touchdowns on 101 receptions, and earned invites to both the Reese’s Senior Bowl (in January) and the NFL Scouting Combine (in February).
Boyle joined fellow rookie tight end Maxx Williams from Minnesota, the highest-rated TE in the draft, in Baltimore after GM Ozzie Newsome and the front office moved up a few spots to snag him in the 2nd round.
