Just what the underachieving Baltimore Ravens (3-3) needed. Another injury to a wide receiver.
Already short-handed on weapons, the Ravens have ruled wide receiver Mike Wallace out for the rest of their Week 7 match-up against Minnesota (4-2).
During the first quarter, Wallace took a hard hit, losing his helmet and slamming the back of his head on the turf.
He’s officially in concussion protocol and coaches and medical staff even had to take his helmet and hide it on the sidelines in Minnesota.
Here’s a quick look at Baltimore’s current situation on offense:
RB Terrance West – Inactive
WR Mike Wallace – ruled out for rest of game
WR Jeremy Maclin – Inactive
WR Breshad Perriman – Inactive
John Harbaugh’s receiving unit is to the point where quarterback Joe Flacco will be relying on guys such as Chris Moore, Mike Campanaro, Chris Matthews and Griff Whalen.
Tight end Ben Watson is the team’s receiving leader this season (24 catches, 176 yards, 1 TD).
So yeah, you could say the Ravens are getting just a tad desperate.
